Graz is the capital of Austrian Styria and the second largest city in Austria. The castle hill bears the old city symbol Schlossberg with its famous clock offering a pretty view of the city and its surroundings.
Since 2003 the new symbol of Graz is the House of Art (Kunsthaus) on the left bank of the Mura River. It resembles a blue shiny bubble. The Isle on the Mura River (Murinsel) was initially intended as a temporary project of the 2003 European cultural capital.
Now the interesting steel construction in the shape of a semi-open shell can be visited on a daily basis. Graz is also a perfect destination for a one-day shopping spree.
