The opening of the European Capital of Culture was enriched by an exhibition in the Perla lobby featuring works by former Hit employee, Bogdan Soban.
Throughout his diverse professional journey, he was never able to fully separate himself from computer science, which has always been an integral part of his private life. His strong connection to information technology played a decisive role in his decision to begin developing a project on computer-generated images as early as the mid-1980s.
The core concept guiding him was to develop programs capable of generating images completely independently of the author. This approach, known as Generative Art, is internationally recognized as an innovative artistic movement. Over the years, he has developed numerous programs that create abstract images in a more or less autonomous way.
Occasionally, he has also explored depicting the real world, adding his unique touch—moving slightly away from complete randomness and allowing for greater artistic influence on the final work.
This time, he presents urban panoramas of Nova Gorica and Gorizia—the twin cities that proudly share the title of European Capital of Culture 2025.
He first presented his work to the public in the late 1990s and has since participated in more than 140 solo exhibitions and over 380 group exhibitions. In addition to exhibiting his works, he also organizes lectures for various audiences, where he demonstrates his programs live.
The exhibition is on display in the Perla lobby from 7 to 28 February 2025.
